Geeky goodness
Just bought a Sony Ericsson T610. Very slick phone.
Got Bluetooth set up on my PowerBook at home and used iSync with it. Used the phone as a GSM modem (9600bps, baby!). Got fed up with 9600bps, and enabled T-zones (T-Mobile) on the phone. Didn't have a GPRS connection, but a call to T-Mobile support remedied that, so now I have the phone as a GPRS Bluetooth modem. It works pretty well - about 5K/sec. Not spectacular, but not bad.
Brought the phone to work, and enabled IrDA on it and got my old Pismo PowerBook, which has built-in IrDA, to use the phone as a GSM and GPRS modem. Still very good.
Mmmm, phone. Intarweb from anywhere. Unlimited GPRS. Yes, very good.
