Funniest story I've heard all day.

Nicole recently brought home a very cute kitten which she named Fire. This kitten hasn't quite figured out that the older, fatter cat, Ari, is not a female. Yet he insists on trying to nurse from Ari.

Today's story really took the cake:

What a day.

Took a wrong turn onto a one-way street, heading in the wrong direction. No cars oncoming, but after immediately flipping around, a cop car was blocking my path. Got the full treatment from him, but luckily no ticket.

Him: "Didn't you see the sign saying no right turn?"
Me: "Sorry no, I screwed up."
Him: You're dumb, blah blah blah blah blah, gonna get killed doing that, blah blah blah blah blah.
Me: Yessir, you're right. I'm sorry. I'm dumb.

Argh.

Our cat's stuck on the neighbor's two-story garage roof. No amount of coaxing has managed to get her to come down. And no lights are on at their house, so I can't let them know it's our cat. Well, the cat gets to spend the night up there. Maybe she'll figure it out. At least her collar has our phone number on it. Meanwhile, whenever she sees someone she meows.

Argh.

Update (10/11 10:36 PDT):

The cat managed to get down by herself, but not before I went to the neighbor's house at 7am this morning and had him go up a ladder to try to get her down. Stupid cat.

Argh.

Reviews of reviews of reviews of reviews, and so forth...

Nicole sent me this link. It's funny. You'll laugh, if you like seeing people rip on other people. Funny is good, especially after the crappy Friday I had at work.

We got another cat on Friday. His name's Ari. No, we did not name him after Ari Fleischer, Dubya's press secretary. I picked the name after seeing Ari Vatanen kick a little butt in this year's Dakar Rally. I'm a rally nut, what can I say? Asha's not too happy to have another cat in the house. It's going to take a while for them to get along. Ari couldn't care less that Asha's here... he's a pretty cool cat.

Hello, you've reached my broken answering machine...

So, I get home today, and a certain gray cat had apparently ruined the answering machine. Don't ask me how, but she likes to jump up on the bookshelf the answering machine is on, so she can look out the window. Well, when she gets up there, she ends up walking all over the answering machine. She has erased the outgoing welcome message twice. I come home today and nothing works on the answering machine. The answering machine's on, but none of the buttons do anything, including the on/off button. I tried pulling the power out and putting it back in, and still the same. So, the answering machine's been tossed and I'm going to go with Qwest voicemail service again. It's $6.95/month (bleh) but I'll live. I liked it when I had it at the old place. And to think that the only reason I have a landline phone is because of the TiVo.

Watching the Screen Savers right now. I must say that the Wil Wheaton housecall was pretty good, and I'm happy to hear that he's playing around with an iBook. Of course, I'm typing this on my iMac.

So I heard rumors today, of the new PPC 7457, which sounds like a very attractive chip. I'm going to wait to get a new Mac until 1.6GHz chips are available. I want to double the performance of 800MHz iMac, on a clock speed basis (and if they come out with dual-1.6GHz Macs, that'll be even better). My girlfriend's DDR PowerMac is awesome, though, even though it has dual-867. Definitely a fast Mac.

I've signed up to volunteer in the phone bank with Rise Above It All this Sunday. Hopefully it'll go well. Monorail Yes!!!
